Hi, my name is Michelle and this journal documents my experience following the Master Cleanse for ten days during August, 2010.
I’ve wanted to do the Master Cleanse for some time. I feel that particularly in the past year or so I’ve been eating a lot more junk than usual, and I really want to live a more healthy lifestyle. My main reasons for doing the cleanse is to detoxify my system and break bad eating habits.
Losing a little weight, if it happens, wouldn’t be bad either. Right now I’m starting to tip over 130 pounds on the scale, at 5’4″. Although I wouldn’t consider myself overweight (my BMI is in the normal range), my ideal weight is probably around 121 pounds.
One of my challenges for doing the cleanse is that I have a two year old that I need to cook and prepare food for during the cleanse. I know some people get rid of all the food in their house during there cleanse, but for me this is not an option! I also have a serious caffeine addiction which I expect is going to be rough on me during the cleanse.
I’m going to do a “straight” Master Cleanse, meaning I’m not adding anything like Psyllium husks or Wheatgrass to the program. I’m pretty much following it exactly as it was originally developed by Stanley Burroughs in the 1940′s.
