Current Weight: 121.4 pounds
Starting Weight: 131.2 pounds
I’ve lost nearly ten pounds during the ten day period of my Master Cleanse. I’m pretty happy about this weight loss, and intend to keep it off, even though losing weight was not my primary reason of doing the Master Cleanse.
This morning I felt great, and was really looking forward to drinking something different – orange juice. It’s been a long time since I’ve drunk freshly squeezed orange juice, and it was delicious!
According to Raylen Sterling, during the first three days after your cleanse, you are supposed to slowly transition to solid foods. The first day, you are supposed to only drink orange juice. On day two, you can incorporate soup into your diet and maybe a few rye crisps of you wish. By day three, you can try eating some cooked veggies or a green salad. After day three, you can start eating other solids, but you should probably keep it simple for at least a week after your cleanse. There is a lot of great information in Master Cleanse Secrets about how to keep the weight off after you finish your cleanse, so if you haven’t yet picked up the book you should certainly consider checking it out!
I must admit, however, I deviated a bit from this schedule today eating a few orange slices and a handful of freshly picked blueberries as well. I haven’t had any gastrointestinal distress as a result, but I would imagine it is probably best to stick to the plan. Today I’m going to eat some lovely organic carrot soup for dinner which I’m really looking forward too!
I also dusted off a Jack Lalanne juicer I had in the cupboard and set it up on my counter. I’m going to start drinking fresh juices in the morning, instead of my previous habit of coffee. After I’m done with transitioning to solid foods, my goal is to move to a primarily raw diet. I’m aiming to eat an 80% raw diet. I recently read “Eating for Energy” by Yuri Elkaim. He states that if you eat at least 80% raw you can get nearly all the benefits of a raw diet. I will be trying some of the many delicious juice recipes he has in his book in the mornings (the “Green Cappuccino” sounds really good), and then one of his more substantial raw meal recipes for lunch (such as “Yammy’s Pad Thai”, “Marinated Broccoli”, and ‘Veggie Sushi with Spicy Mayonnaise”) . For dinner, I’ll eat a cooked meal with my family – although I will also have a nice big salad alongside whatever cooked food I eat.
I plan on doing the Master Cleanse again in another six months, and probably every six months thereafter. Next time, I may even go fourteen days! I’ll definitely include my new cleanse journal here as well the next time I do it. I’ll also continue to add useful posts and tips, plus regular updates on how I’m doing post-cleanse. So please check back often, or sign up for my newsletter on the right so you can get my updates by email!
